These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of this website and the moving, packing, junk-removal, and related services provided by Affordable Movers and its licensed local operators ("Affordable Movers," "we," "us"). By requesting a quote, booking a move, purchasing supplies, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.
ABOUT OUR NETWORK
Affordable Movers operates as a network of locally owned and operated teams. Depending on your location, your move may be performed by our corporate team or by an independent licensee operating under the Affordable Movers brand. The team responsible for your move is identified when you book or receive your quote, and these Terms apply to services from any team in the network.
ESTIMATES, RATES, AND BILLING
Our services are billed at the hourly rates published on this website, with a two-hour minimum and 30-minute billing increments after that, unless a different arrangement is confirmed with you in writing. Quotes and estimates are provided in good faith based on the information you give us; the final bill reflects the actual time and services your move requires. Services added on moving day — extra stops, packing, specialty items — are billed at the same posted rates.
Payment is due upon completion of your move unless agreed otherwise in advance.
SCHEDULING, CANCELLATION, AND DELAYS
Contact your local office as early as possible to reschedule or cancel a move; late cancellations may be subject to a fee. Arrival windows are estimates — weather, traffic, and prior jobs can affect timing, and we will keep you informed of significant changes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
To keep your move safe and your bill low: give us accurate information about the size and contents of your move and the access at both addresses (stairs, elevators, parking, long carries); reserve elevators or parking where your building requires it; and set aside the items you will transport yourself. Cash, jewelry, medications, personal documents, and other high-value or irreplaceable items should always travel with you.
ITEMS WE CANNOT TRANSPORT
For safety and legal reasons our crews cannot transport hazardous materials (fuels, paints, solvents, propane tanks, ammunition, explosives), perishable food, or live animals. Plants travel at your own risk.
LIABILITY AND CLAIMS
Our crews pad, wrap, and handle your belongings with care. As with all licensed movers, our liability for loss or damage is subject to the valuation coverage that applies to your move under applicable law; the standard released-value protection and any available full-value options are explained before your move, and coverage details and limits are provided in your move paperwork.
If something is lost or damaged, tell your crew lead on moving day where possible and submit a written claim to your local office promptly. We investigate every claim and respond within the timelines the applicable regulations require.
Boxes packed by the owner rather than by our crews are transported at your risk as to their contents, unless external damage to the box is evident.
SUPPLIES, RENTALS, AND THE SHOP
Boxes, bins, and supplies purchased or rented through our shop are described and priced at purchase, and reusable-bin rentals are governed by the rental period and return conditions shown when you order.
WEBSITE USE
This website provides general information about our services. We work to keep rates, service areas, and other details current, but errors happen — the terms confirmed in your booking control over anything stated here. You agree not to misuse the website, submit false requests, or interfere with its operation.
DISPUTES AND GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the state in which your move is performed necessarily applies. Raise any dispute with your local office first — most issues are resolved with a phone call.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the website or our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
